“Dignitas” – Team Circa3

Dignitas (Short Film) – ‘Best Film’ for 48 Hour Film Project from Circa3 on Vimeo.

There is a special place in my heart for 48 shorts that attempt to make something cinematic; utilizing artful cinematography, log takes, writing a plot that doesn’t rely on dialogue for all plot points. Team Circa3 from the 2014 Salt Lake City 48 Hour Film Project accomplished all of that and more with its recent submission “Dignitas.” Required elements for 48HFP New York City were:

  • Character: Trey or Tracey Beldon, Entrepreneur
  • Prop: a coffee mug
  • Line of Dialogue: “Why do you ask?”

With Circa3 pulling the genre “Fish Out of Water.” As for awards, Dignitas did rather well for itself taking home:

  • Best Film
  • Best Cinematography

Later this week Dignita’s director Kasey LaRose will be joining me for a new episode of 48 Hour Favorites Podcast. Keep your podcast aggregator looking for that in the near future. If you have yet to subscribe to the show, please check 48 Hour Favorites on YouTube. I’ll leave you with links to the most recent episode.
